I like to photograph “things”, photographically speaking as a photographer you have complete control over things.  You can control how the light interacts with them, you can position them however you’d like, and basically you can create with them the photographic vision that’s in your head.  This weekend’s project were these monkey figurines.  I’ve had these for years and finally decided to photograph them:
